Tuesday March 6th, 2012: Chicago Chowdah Fest 2012 was a success! The event held at the Columbia Yacht Club was attended by more than 200 people with a total of $4,000 raised for the Sea Scouts. The 13 chefs created variations of chowder and served samples all night long to hungry guests.
A range of chefs were present, including Giuseppe Tentori (GT Fish & Oyster), Sarah Grueneberg (Spiaggia), Nicole Pederson (C-House), Susan Goss (West Town Tavern), Mark Steuer (The Bedford), Jeffrey Hedin (Leopold) and private chef Julius Russell.
To conclude the night, two winners were announced. Chef Julius was awarded the fan favorite with his Chilean-seafood chowder with black truffle croutons and GT Fish & Oyster's Giuseppe Tentori took the judge's favorite with his chowder that he serves at his restaurant.
