The TV series "What is your dream?", released last year by Television Nacional de Chile (TVN), was the only Chilean production nominated for the 2011 International Emmy Awards to compete in the category of "Best Program for Children and Youth". It has been six years since Chile was nominated to the International Emmys.

"What is your dream?", produced by Mi Chica Producciones and directed by Paula Gomez, consists of 16 chapters of 30 minutes of each showing the diversity of Chile through the eyes of children between ages 7 and 13. The show explores their innocence, fantasies and imagination, while looking at the places they live in and how it shapes the way they see the world.

The series already won 2nd place in the 7-11 years category Nonfiction in the 2011 Prix Jeunesse Iberoamericano and it has been praised as an insightful look at the life and thoughts of children in remote locations of Chile. At the 2011 International Emmys it will be competing against the German "Allein gegen die Zeit", "Dance Academy" from Australia and "Saladin" from Malaysia.

"The International Emmy Awards is a tough competition with over 1000 entries from 61 countries, this year" said Bruce L. Paisner, President & CEO of The International Academy of Television Arts & Sciences. "The number and range of countries represented by this year's nominees is astonishing and a testament to the growing strength and skill of television production around the world."  The winners will be announced at a ceremony on November 21 at the Hilton New York.

The show was funded by the State sponsored National Television Council of Chile (CNTV) and its participation at the awards is supported by the Trade Commmission of Chile in New York. Mi Chica Producciones was recently awarded funds by the CNTV to perform a second season of the series "What is your dream?", which is scheduled to air in 2013.
